PCOS: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
PCOS is a problem in which a woman’s hormones are out of balance. This may cause problems with your periods and make it difficult to get pregnant.
Most women with PCOS grow many small cysts on their ovaries. These cysts are not harmful but lead to hormonal imbalances. Symptoms tend to be mild at first and may include:
- Weight gain and difficult losing weight
- Extra hair on the face and body
- Thinning hair on the scalp
- Irregular Periods
- Fertility problems
Early diagnosis and treatment can help control the symptoms and prevent long term problems. Call 217-356-3736 to set up a consultation with Dr Trupin.
We are currently enrolling patients in a PCOS research study.
