Gynecology

Annual Exams

Including annual gynecologic exams as well as primary care exams for women.

Gynecologic Problems

Women's Health Practice specializes in complex evaluations in the areas of hormonal problems including weight management, contraceptive decisions, endometriosis, uterine fibroids and pelvic pain, menopause and bio-identical therapy, sexual therapy, and pelvic floor problems and treatments. We believe in whole woman care, and many of our gynecologic patients will use us for complete primary care. We offer individualized laboratory screening and testing based on your needs. We can help you know when to begin screenings such as pap smears and mammograms, and help you choose the frequency of your testing. The menu of services is fairly comprehensive, and we have other services available. We welcome a chance to discuss your needs.

Second Opinions

We are willing to give you second opinions on prior medical evaluations in the areas of hormonal problems including weight management, contraceptive decisions, endometriosis, uterine fibroids and pelvic pain, menopause and bio-identical therapy, sexual therapy, hysterectomy, as well as pelvic floor problems and treatments.

Abnormal Pap Smear, Colposcopy, LEEP Surgery

We offer HPV evaluation, treatment, and testing as well as a comprehensive program for evaluation of abnormal pap smears. We also offer HPV evaluation of the vulva, the vagina, and the anal region as well.

Heavy Menstrual Bleeding

Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding can be very worrisome, and we offer same day evaluation and, in some cases, same day treatments.

Women who are done having children should consider the option of stopping their heavy periods with the technique called endometrial ablation. For women with heavy menstrual bleeding the period can be here today and literally gone tomorrow with this treatment. Once a woman has an endometrial ablation, she will almost be sure to never have a heavy period again, although she has to heal and will have some sort of light bleeding or discharge in the healing phase. Over 50% of women will have no periods at all after an endometrial ablation. Another 40% of women formerly with heavy periods will just have very light bleeding during their periods after having and endometrial ablation procedure. Office endometrial ablation, usually called Novasure, is covered by most insurance plans with just your office co-pay.

Fibroids

Uterine Leiomyoma, or uterine fibroids, are the most common tumors of the uterus. We offer a variety of medical and surgical treatments as well as comprehensive evaluation and management.

Contraception

Oral contraception, contraception, Mirena IUD, ParaGard IUD, Nexplanon, DepoProvera injections, as well as permanent sterilization by tubal ligation or Essure inserts.

Ovarian Cysts, Pelvic Pain, Endometriosis

We offer comprehensive evaluation for these chronic pelvic problems including evaluation and treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).

HPV and other STDs with Partner Testing

We offer a variety of HPV tests for women and can test for GC, Chamydia, syphilis, hepatitis, and HIV. We are able to evaluate vaginal infections, vaginal bumps, and vaginal ulcers as well.

Vulvar Conditions

These include Bartholins Gland surgery, treatments for vulvodynia and vaginusmus, and cosmetic repair of the vulva and vagina.
